13-year-old builds his own mini-house in his backyard, look inside and be impressed

Today, when kids are busy with iPads and cellphones, Luke is one such guy who was busy in building his house. Meet this 13 year old Luke, who built a masterpiece that is being loved all over.

LUKE THILL

Luke Thill is a middle school kid of 13, from Dubuque, Lowa. He is famous over the Internet because of his amazing masterpiece which he has built in his parent’s backyard. The project just cost him $1,500 USD.

INTERNET HELPED

Unlike other kids who prefer staying busy with phones and PlayStation, Luke decided to do something “out of the box” and came up with an idea of building a house, his own little world of comfort. He did a lot of research and at the end decided how he would execute his idea.

RAISED A FUND

It took almost a year before he could start with his house. He collected all the materials and money he needed for the house by moving lawns and started a fund raiser online. Luke has an electrician friend who helped him install electricity. In return, Luke decided to clean the electrician’s garage for him.

RECYCLED MATERIAL

It is an 89-square-foot house is 10 feet long and is 5 1/2 feet wide which has been made with atleast 75% of recycled materials, which Luke bought from his grandmother’s house. The house just has electricity, but no bathroom and water.

DAD HELPED

Luke was also helped financially by his parents. His father Greg helped him build the house but the father made sure that Luke did most of the work of building and paying. “It was a chance for a kid to do something more than play video games or sports,” Greg told The Des Moines Register. “It teaches life lessons.”

LUKE SAYS

Luke has done an amazing work. The house is an amazing modern cave with a TV, microwave and a bed. Luke chills out here and does his homework here after school. “I want to show kids it’s possible to build at this age,” he says in one of his videos. The guy has his own YouTube channel too. He says he wants to build a bigger house once he gets to college.
