Many of us grow up dreaming of an exceptionally beautiful romantic love story that awaits us in the future. We wait expectantly to fall in love. Movies and love songs often stir up this feeling of longingness while we wait for the perfect person. Sometimes, we meet a perfect one and sometimes we just regret the chances we got which we rejected looking for the perfect one! However, when we get married, we settle for the person we are married to. Sometimes, we get our share our doubts, but most of the times, we respect our partners.
Here’s a beautiful story that will completely make you understand the actual meaning of marriage and love.
A student asks a teacher, “What is love?”
The teacher said, “in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.”
The student went to the field, go thru the first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders….maybe there is a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one… But maybe there is an even bigger one waiting for him. Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he starts to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he knows he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted. So, he ended up went back to the teacher with an empty hand.
The teacher told him, “…this is love… You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already missed the person….”
“What is marriage then?” the student asked.
The teacher said, “in order to answer your question, go to the cornfield and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.”
The student went to the cornfield, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake when he reaches the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feels satisfied, and come back to the teacher. The teacher told him, “This time you bring back a corn…. You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get…. This is marriage.
Beautiful and actual definition, isn’t it? Well, we can only say that you should always give love the chance to blossom in your life. Don’t wait for too much to wait for the perfect person. I’ve always believed that a perfect relationship does not always need two perfect persons. You only need two people who refuse to give up one another! What do you have to say on this?
